El portavoz de la ONU, Stephane Dujarric, dijo en una sesión informativa que la ONU solo puede estar decepcionada por el hecho de que las diversas facciones libias no lograron llegar a un acuerdo por el bien de la gente de su propio país y por el bien de los millones que se registraron para votar y querían poder expresar sus opiniones políticas libremente.
La Cámara de Representantes de Libia (HoR) y el Alto Consejo de Estado (HCS) finalizaron su tercera y última ronda de conversaciones en El Cairo el lunes sin llegar a un acuerdo sobre todas las diferencias.
Dujarric dijo que su entendimiento sobre las conversaciones de El Cairo para una base constitucional libia es que puede haber otra reunión dentro de los próximos 10 días.
“Creo que nunca es demasiado tarde para llegar a algún tipo de acuerdo, y esperamos que los líderes libios pongan, ante todo, los intereses del pueblo libio en la parte superior de su agenda”. agregó Dujarric.

The Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) and High Council of State (HCS) ended their third and final round of talks in Cairo on Monday without agreeing on all differences.
Dujarric said that his understanding about the Cairo talks for a Libyan constitutional basis was that there may be another meeting within the next 10 days.
“I think it’s never too late to come to some sort of an agreement, and we hope that Libyan leaders will put, first and foremost, the interests of the Libyan people at the top of their agenda.” Dujarric added.
The UN Advisor Stephanie Williams has previously called on the HoR and HCS to pick a place for a meeting in ten days from June 20, while the Head of the HCS Khalid Al-Mishri told Williams in a letter last Monday that he was ready to meet with the Speaker of the HoR in Ghadames city.
